Inspired by Off-Menu’s recent digital feature of the same title, Seeking Truth in the Olive Groves invites guests to a reflective afternoon exploring the craft and philosophy of olive oil. Beatrice Karp, founder of Bea Olive Oil, will lead a guided tasting paired with bread from local baker Tiana Jin, and share insights from her recent Tuscan harvest. Guests will understand olive oil to be a language of care and truth.
This event offers a rare opportunity to experience olive oil at its freshest and to reflect on the clarity that emerges from working in rhythm with the land. Through Off-Menu’s lens of storytelling, Seeking Truth in the Olive Groves connects philosophy, food systems, and intentional living in a sensory and communal experience.
Hosts
Beatrice Karp
Beatrice Karp is the founder of Bea Olive Oil. She works with Italian farmers to bring the freshest olive oil to the U.S., handling everything from harvest to FDA approvals. After studying at the University of Pennsylvania, she left a corporate job to work in the groves of Tuscany, where she saw both the scale of olive oil counterfeiting and the excellence of olive oil made correctly. Her work focuses on transparency, quality, and helping small producers revive abandoned olive groves.
