Rebecca Lajboschitz (b.1988, Copenhagen, Denmark) draws on a background in art, costume design and jewelry. She studied Fine Art at Goldsmith College in London (2013) and is educated in both textile and as a goldsmith in Copenhagen. As an artist Lajboschitz works in and across the cracks between conventional perceptions of creative fields. Her practice investigates traditional disciplines which are translated freely while morphed with self invented techniques, placing them in a contemporary context. Abstractions, colours and tactility is ever present in her work, and closely tied to a continuous interest in traces of a “before” and the imperfection of the human-made.
