A 90-minute studio visit with artist Joe Henry Baker.

Baker’s work explores light and movement in abstract form, creating numinous and ethereal works using acrylics and fabric dyes. Often completed in a single sitting working alla prima (wet on wet), the practice is a delicate dance between chance and control, determined and irresolute. Baker’s paintings evolve through experimentation, while subtle beauty is revealed as the work dries and sets.

Proceeds from this event will go to the artist, and funding Index’s need-based scholarships.
